Polytrimethylene Terephthalate (PTT)

Bio-Based High-Performance Polyester Polymer

Product Overview

Polytrimethylene Terephthalate (PTT) is an advanced thermoplastic polyester synthesized from terephthalic acid (PTA) and 1,3-propanediol (PDO). When bio-based PDO is used, PTT becomes a partially bio-based, low-carbon polyester, offering an excellent balance of mechanical strength, elasticity, chemical resistance, and processing efficiency.

PTT is widely used in textiles, engineering plastics, automotive components, films, and industrial applications, making it an ideal solution for manufacturers seeking high-performance and sustainable polymer materials.

Typical Applications

  • Textile fibers (carpets, apparel, upholstery)
  • Automotive interior & structural components
  • Engineering plastic parts
  • Industrial films and packaging
  • Blends and modified polyester compounds
